Northern Italian-style espresso meets regenerative agriculture in the heart of San Francisco. Balanced, sweet espresso sourced through long-standing relationships rooted in regenerative and biodynamic farming.
Línea Caffe was founded in San Francisco by Andrew Barnett, one of the most experienced specialty coffee professionals in the United States.
Before Línea, Andrew founded Ecco Caffe in Sonoma County, helped shape the early specialty coffee scene in California, and spent years judging the World Barista Championship. Línea is the project he built around what he loves most: espresso, hospitality, craft, and the tradition of gathering around carefully prepared espresso.
But Línea is not only about espresso technique.
It is about building coffee from better foundations: carefully chosen coffees, strong producer relationships, regenerative and biodynamic farming practices, and roasting that respects the work already done at origin.
At the café, that care shows up in the details: the pace of the bar, the quality of the shots, the way each coffee is prepared, and the belief that a great cup of coffee can be both everyday and extraordinary.
It's an invitation to trace the throughline of great coffee — from the health of the soil to the precision of the roast and extraction.

At Línea, every great cup begins long before roasting. It starts in the soil, with farming practices that prioritize the long-term health of people, ecosystems, and communities. Through this partnership, we'll explore how those decisions shape the coffees people love to drink, and how a commitment to organic, regenerative, and biodynamic agriculture ultimately finds its way into the cup.
Together, we hope to help more coffee drinkers understand the throughline that connects great farming, thoughtful roasting, and memorable coffee experiences.
Over the arc of Andrew's career in coffee, he has built deep, long-standing relationships with his community of producers. The longevity of these relationships enables farmers to make meaningful investments in their growing and processing practices. Here are a few of the producers Línea has been sourcing from for years.

Finca La Salsa · 5× Cup of Excellence Winner · Recipient of the Legends of Excellence award
@benjaminpaz on Instagram“My goal was to grow the best coffee I could, to share something special and to help others do the same. The Cup of Excellence changed everything for me — and for our whole region.”
Benjamin Paz didn't just aim to grow the best coffee; he built a movement. From the highlands of El Cedral, his farm Finca La Salsa has become a hub of excellence and mentorship. A two-time 1st place winner in the Cup of Excellence, Benjamin has also helped 7 other producers reach the CoE auction by sharing seeds, fermentation techniques, and market access. His farm is a model for what coffee can be when knowledge is shared.

Mococa, São Paulo, Brazil · Family-run since 1850
@fazendaambientalfortaleza on InstagramFazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF) is a family-run estate where the Croce-Barretto family cultivates coffee on land that has been in their care since 1850. Reimagined in 2001 by Silvia Barretto and Marcos Croce, the farm sits at elevations around 1,000 meters above sea level and has become a pioneering model of regenerative agriculture, organic systems, and community-focused specialty production.
Their approach centers on restoring soil health, integrating native tree species, and maintaining diverse shade canopies that encourage slow cherry development. Across FAF's rolling hills, the family cultivates varieties such as Yellow Catuaí, Mundo Novo, and Bourbon in carefully managed agroforestry systems. Post-harvest, cherries undergo selective picking, controlled fermentations, and slow drying — either on raised beds or in the farm's solar-assisted structures.
Alongside their own production, FAF also mentors a network of neighboring smallholder farmers, offering training, agronomic guidance, and quality incentives to help elevate the region's coffee potential. The result is a vibrant and expressive cup with layers of fruit sweetness, balanced acidity, and clean, textured structure — anchoring quality not just in craft, but in stewardship of land and community.
